First half of a centre-fold called "The New Method of Cooking: Five Divisions" with 5 columns. Three of those columns appear on this image, specifically vegetables, fruits, and dried foods. Above the vegetable column is an image of vegetables. Above the fruits column, there is an image of fruit, and above the dried foods column, there is an image

Description
Column 1:
Illustration of various vegetables in a circular frame.

VEGETABLES
cooked without water
We might eat our vegetables raw, but we cannot
eat all of them that way, our systems being "tuned"
to cooked foods. Vegetables are rich in mineral
salts and natural sugars, but when peeled and
boiled they lose so much in salts, sugars and llavor
that many children, and even adults, dislike them.
Cooked without added water, with the skins on
and with a very small supply of heat, vegetables
may be prepared by the New Method process in
such a way as to preserve the natural balance of
food elements.
Thece is better flavor and more nutrition in foods
cooked this way, making people like them and derive
benefit from them. Natural flavors stir gastric
juices to action, aiding digestion.

-'"The average housewife peels her vegetables, thus throwing
away the part directly underneath the skins containing the most
plentiful amount of mineral salts; then the remaining portion is boiled and the water which has also dissolved out more minerals, is thrown away." -- Dr. Chas,. H. Mayo

2nd column:
Illustration of various fruits in a circular frame.

FRUITS
cooked without water
Fresh fruits are very important in the human
diet. Scientists tell us that a large variety of fruits
are necessary.
Extra thick pans are necessary to prepare fruits
without water. These foods are rich in sugar
and will burn easily in ordinary utensils. Water
should be avoided in cooking fruits as much as in
cooking vegetables.
The delicious flavor and natural color of apples,
pears, quinces, strawberries, cherries, etc., cooked
by the "Wear-Ever" New Method develops an
appeal that makes people marvel.
Our special process has eliminated the work of
stemming, peeling, etc. This was always wasteful
of time and money. Our food saver is a feature of
this operation. It reduces waste to an absolute
minimum.

"During my nine years association with Himalayan races, I never saw a case of asthenic dyspepeia, gastric or duodenal ulcer, appendicitis or cancer, although my operating last averaged 400 a year. Three people live on unsophisitcated foods of nature: Milk, eggs, grains, fruits and vegetables." -- Dr. Robert McGarrison

3rd column
Illustrations of dried foods such as beans, oats, rice, apricots, and macaroni in a circular frame.

DRIED FOODS
cooked by the new method
Dried foods, much the same as fresh foods, have certain nutritive values which must be protected in the cooking process. In the winter time, especially do we depend on dried foods for family nourishment. "Wear-Ever" New Method of Cooking permits the proper preparation of such foods, making sure that they are cooked through.
Formerly it was, necessary to soak many dried foods over night. It is now possible to merely add the necessary water at the beginning and then cook them at once. While they are cooking they are absorbing enough water to replace that which was taken out originally in the drying process.
Prunes and apricots puff up to natural size when prepared by the indirect steaming operation as provided in the "Wear-Ever" New Method.

--"It is notable that in any large group of children, those who are well along in school, as judged by all methods of testing, are the children who are physically fit and up to average weight for their height." -- Dr. Wm. R. P. Emerson,
in Woman's Home Companion, February, 1925
