<text>The cookbook that I have chosen to complete my for the digital exhibit is called “Edible Table Arrangements” written by Carol Brock. Brock published this book in 1981, in hopes of changing the game in relations to table decorations. Carol knew that the standard decoration on a table were was a vase of flowers. With her creative mind she decided to start using fruits and vegetables as her choice of decoration., Ffruits and vegetables have a wide variety of colours and are different shapes and sizes, so mixing and matching them is quite easy to end up with a colourful and edible table decoration. Even though many people would see this as a waste of food if it were to go uneaten, many farmers in this time had these kinds of resources for no cost. Not only does she have basic recipes in her book, but she also gets advanced and she begins to show how to carve the fruit with a knife to make it look even more fancyeven fancier. This book set the stage for many people beginning to create and even buy table arrangements whether it be real or artificial, it is clear that these remain a popular choice today. </text>

<text>In 1981 Carol Brock had a thought that maybe fruits and vegetables are the perfect item to use for a decoration. Once she began creating them and realizing how beautiful they looked on her table, she had Irena Chalmers publish her book “Edible Table Arrangements” in the United States. She is an author that makes her cookbook extremely easy to read and it makes it simple for the reader to not lose track. Edible Table Arrangements was only Forty-EightForty-Eight pages long but was filled with an extreme amount of colour, images, and easy to follow instructions. Carol Brock was ultimately a very organized person with good taste in decorations who wanted to share the beauty not only with herself but with everyone. She created this tradition, and you see lots of her recipes on people’s tables during Thanksgiving, even until today.

<text>To begin creating this recipe, you must get a red stocking so you can place the desert, you will also need cheese wrapped in foil, crackers, chocolate, a dicky of brandy, a lady apple, and a lot of grapes and kiwi. Once you have finished creating the stuffed stocking, place them in the middle of the table on evergreens, with some red Christmas balls. The reason why it is suggested to have the evergreens and red Christmas balls, is so at dessert time when you distribute the stockings to your guests, the table space will not look empty. This recipe has great relevance to the overall purpose of this cookbook as it gives another unique idea to serving desert while having it as a decoration when your guests arrive and are eating.
