Graham Kerr, affectionately known as “The Galloping Gourmet,” has enjoyed a career spanning many decades and countries. Born in London, England, Kerr became interested in cooking at a young age. After working as a catering advisor with the British Army, he started giving televised cooking demonstrations in Australia and New Zealand, eventually hosting his own show, Entertaining with Kerr. Arguably, he is best known as the host of the wildly popular Canadian cooking show, The Galloping Gourmet (1968-1972). A companion to the show, Graham Kerr’s Television Cookbook contains a collection of recipes featured on The Galloping Gourmet. The book’s pages are filled with Kerr’s signature wit and incorporate his experiences travelling the world and growing up in a British household. Like his television shows, the book is full of rich and decadent dishes. One of the first celebrity chefs, Kerr will always be known for bringing a unique flair and energy to the kitchen.
