My Culinary Discovery

‘BRAN-new Labor Saving Ideas’ is a cookbook created by Kellogg’s that promotes the use of their all-bran products while cooking quick and delicious meals. It provides the reader four recipes, each of which shows theee different ways the recipe can be used. The purpose of this cookbook is to show the reader how versatile Kellogg’s all-bran is and that it is the optimum product to use in busy households which hold limited time to cook and bake their meals. Through out this exhibit I will investigate this cookbook on a greater level using the skills I have aquired in my History of Stuff seminar course. I will explore the history of not only the cookbook but the brand as a whole which will provide information on the era which this cookbook was created, the gender roles at the time of production, the type of economy the consumers using this product were living in, and so much more. The knowledge we are able to gain from an in depth look at this cookbook is endless.
