History of DFC

The company that made this cookbook is called “Dairy Farmers of Canada” and was founded in 1934. Originally called the Canadian Federation of Milk Producers. They are a “national policy, lobbying and promotional organization representing Canada’s farmers living on approximately 12,000 dairy farms.” They were originally founded to be the voice of all Canadian dairy farmers and over time evolved to make fair prices for the producers and pursue market stability. In 1994 the DFC merged with the Diary Bureau of Canada, which was the national organization for the promotion for Canadian dairy products. On all of this companies products you will find a “100% Canadian milk symbol which verifies that all dairy products found with this label are made from 100% milk rather than other products that may use imported milk components. This is a campaign they made and it suggests that by buying their products you are supporting your local farmers and are helping keep the economy strong. This company supports all provinces with dairy coming from all across Canada.
