I think this artifact is very useful to those who are interested in learning more information on the 1950’s and what society looked like in the past. Without a doubt there is a lot of information you can pull from this cookbook even with the lack of information provided. Just by reading the introduction you can get a sense of the gender roles that were seen in this time period. I think this is important for people to read because some people in society still continue to have this mindset and stereotype women to believe that this is the way they were and should be living. I believe by looking at artefacts from the past we can properly educate ourselves and get a better understanding on history. Personally when I read this I way very shocked and surprised that this was once a reality for many women and I’m glad I could educate myself on this topic, which is why people should care about this today to promote gender equality and prevent this from occurring in the future.
