Cherished Recipes is written by the Apostolic Church, located in Gaspereau Mt., Nova Scotia. First formed in 1916 as a result of the 1904 Welsh revival, the Apostolic Church is a Trinitarian and Pentecostal network of churches with established movements in over forty countries worldwide. The purpose of publication of this cookbook is unknown; the compilation of recipes inputted from various authors, whom were likely all a part of this religious organization, as well as the numerous advertisements found inside, lead to the assumption that it was created for fundraising purposes, as well as as a tool to aid families in their cooking regimes. No further evidence of other publications by the Apostolic Church appear to exist at this time. Please note that a single source with minimal evidence as to its accuracy suggests Cherished Recipes be published in 1985; however, this will be disregarded as there is no substantial evidence available to support this claim, and the content found inside the recipe book is better suited to the estimated date of publication being circa 1950.
