Do you know how the "Jell-O" dessert got its name?

The Genesee Pure Food Company, to which the Jell-O recipe was sold, initially was known for producing a drink made from grains. The name of the drink was "Grain-O", and it was quite famous and successful at the time. Hence, the company decided to name the dessert in a similar manner, and this is how the name "Jell-O" was introduced. This was likely meant for the consumers to be able to recognize that both products were made by the same company, and this way the company hoped to increase the popularity of Jell-O and to make it as successful as the Grain-O drink.
