Did you Know?

Did you know the E. W. Gillett Factory built in 1912 in Toronto still stands today? Just like the Magic Baking Powder on store shelves, the building itself continues to be a feature at 135 Liberty street in Liberty Village, Toronto. Referred to now by residents as “The Castle” because of its medieval design roots (such as the castle-like roof design), and its similarity to the famous Toronto landmark, Casa Loma. The building has been repurposed since the times of Gillett, including for office spaces, a variety of businesses, and even a night club (RED Nightclub, now closed).
