While there is no specific author listed for this cookbook, it was created to be an informative document by the National Dairy Council of Canada in the hopes of educating Canadians about the importance of dairy and how it contributes to healthy living. This corporation was established on December 30, 1919 under the Canada Corporations Act and was dissolved on December 19, 2005. The publication of Butter: Vital for Growth and Health would have been an attempt on the part of the National Dairy Council of Canada to make itself a household name across the country and promote dairy products coming from Canadian farms. The National Dairy Council of Canada was located in Ottawa, Ontario. Since most of Canada's dairy farms were located in Ontario and Quebec, Ottawa would have served as a central location for both provinces and their dairy industries. The National Dairy Council of Canada was created with the purpose of unifying milk producers and processors in order to standardize the milk industry and how dairy products were processed.
