Did You Know?
Door-to-door milk delivery was common in Canada beginning in the later 19th century and continued well into the 20th century. The local dairy would deliver milk and cream right to each door on a daily basis. The products were usually contained in reusable glass bottles, and were exchanged for the right amount of change that was left on the porch for the milkman. Milk deliveries ended once personal vehicles and corner stores became more common.
