This is a black and white image of Albert Edward Silverwood, the founder of Silverwood Dairies. Here he is pictured in a suit as a middle aged man looking into the distance from the shoulders up.

This cookbook was created by the Consumer Service Division of Silverwood Dairies. Silverwood Dairies Limited was created in 1912 and was originally located in London Ontario, on the north side of Bathurst Steet. Albert Edward Silverwood founded the company and passed away in 1961. At the time of this cookbook's publishing, Albert had already passed the business down to his son, Edward Gordon. In the 1990s the company was sold to the Agropur Group. The brand and name of Silverwood Dairies disappeared in 1999 when the company was acquired by Couche-Tard. Albert Edward Silverwood’s legacy consists of more than just dairy as he was also chairman of the Canadian League for the Advancement of Colored People. This organization, which held its first convention in London, Ontario in 1927, was committed to the advancement of Black men and women's rights and eradicating discrimination. In his company, Silverwood endeavoured to employ Black Canadians and assist them in their pursuit of higher education.
