Did You Know?

Dr. Harvey Wiley, who is mentioned on page thirty-two of this cookbook, was the first commissioner of the United States Food and Drug Administration. He played an important role in creating the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906, which banned the use of harmful and adulterated food and drug products.
