It was recommended, in general, to use one to four Royal Yeast Cakes a day for adults, and half that quantity for children. Royal Yeast Cakes could be taken before, during, after, or between meals as preferred. A pleasant and convenient method was to add 1 cup of lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar to each Royal Yeast Cake. Allow it to stand overnight in a moderately warm room. In the morning, stir well and pour liquid out or it may be strained through muslin. In this way, a full day's serving can be accomplished in one operation. Then, place in the refrigerator or another cool place, and drink at intervals as desired throughout the day.

This method of consuming a Royal Yeast Cake is quite straight-forward and would have been easy for any reader to do. The instructions note that the process may be varied to suit an individual's taste. All one had to do was "pulverize" a Royal Yeast Cake and mix with oatmeal or another kind of breakfast cereal, which could be cooked or dry, and then add cream or milk as one normally would. Most Canadians would have had various cereals in their homes, and oatmeal was quite affordable, so this recipe could have been used by almost anyone wishing to enhance their health with the help of yeast.
