The Electric Bean Chemical Company was located in Ottawa at 226-228 Albert Street in the Centertown neighbourhood of the city. Its main product, Electric Beans, were an iron supplement meant to treat fatigue and improve the blood. Their other product, Electro Balm, appears to be a salve for the skin that treated eczema and soothed and healed skin irritations. Two calendars and recipe books were published by the company in 1911 and 1912 but advertisements produced by the company suggest that they were selling their Electric Beans until at least 1920. The company published several advertisements in the Ottawa Journal newspaper, often with the tagline Electric Beans “will fill you with ambition and make life worth living.”
