The Aluminum Company of Canada was founded in 1902 under the name Northern Aluminum Company, Ltd. The name was changed to the Aluminum Company of Canada in 1925 and was better known as Alcan. Wear-Ever aluminum cookware was one of their products. The Wear-Ever products were initially advertised as “the new way of cooking” and included items such as pots, pans, coffee makers, juicers, and strainers. In the 1930s, a man named Jack Luck joined the Alcan company as a draftsman and created many successful and award-winning products for the company, including pots, pans, and kettles. Alcan prided themselves on their cookware's ability to prepare foods without water, which they argued produced dishes that didn't lose the valuable nutrients and minerals found in the foods. The Aluminum Company of Canada published other cookbooks to promote their products, including The Wear-Ever New Method of Cooking, in 1928.
