Introduction

Waterless Cooking for Health is a cookbook that was prepared and distributed in 1920 by the Acme Aluminum Corporation. It was originally published in Sherbrooke, Quebec and written in English. The main goal of this thirty-six page cookbook is to sell the waterless cookware that was being produced by Acme Aluminum Corporation at the time as almost all the recipes in the cookbook are associated in some way with the cookware product. The recipes contained within the cookbook are easy to recreate and do not take much effort as the cookware created by Acme Aluminum Corporation was supposed to do all the work. For the most part, every page provides at least two or three recipes. This cookbook would have been used by anyone who was preparing a meal with the waterless cooking method, but the intended audience was women as the title page clearly states it contains “Recipes & Information for the Housewife.” Many of the recipes that were included in this cookbook could still be made today, even if they are not made with Acme’s cookware.
