Introduction

Cooking has been a pertinent part of history since food is a basic element of survival. The preparation of foods differ between cultures all throughout history. There are a few factors that influence the way people prepare foods. The cookbook; A Cookbook for Diabetics reflects on the many influences during the time it was created. This cookbook was created to assist people that have dietary needs because of diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that affects many around the world and forces those affected to reduce their total intake of (Diabetes Canada, 2020). People with type 2 diabetes cannot properly use the insulin produced by their bodies or they just cannot produce enough insulin (Diabetes Canada, 2020). The contents of the book consist of healthy recipes that use sugar substitutes and give nutritional information for all the ingredients. Recipes within the book include meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, as well as foods for special occasions such as birthdays and holidays. The cookbook also provides meal plans for the diabetics who struggle to find different meals to eat when following a strict diet.
