While Food Becomes You, or, Better Health through Better Nutrition is a cookbook, it doesn’t necessarily focus on recipes. This “recipe” above is a daily recommended meal plan for those who wish to partake in the diet laid out. Each meal throughout the day focuses on specific sets of ingredients to be present in order to cover essential nutrients.  These ingredients cover protein sources, being eggs, tuna and beef, grains being bread items, and a variety of fruits or vegetables scattered within. While the book does not cover any methods of preparation for these meals, they are laid out with their basic ingredients which build up to the overall meal. Furthermore, some changes can be made to the amount of ingredients used to fit the caloric need of the individual. These meals fit the overall purpose of this cookbook, focusing on creating a balanced diet that does not lack any basic nutrients.

Similar to that of the Wednesday daily meal guide, Monday’s meal recommendations follow a similar nutritional baseline. However, there are minor differences being that there is not a focus on protein for breakfast or lunch.  While not providing information on preparation for these meals, the amount of ingredients required for the desired caloric intake is provided. This will provide a skeleton outline the preparation of the meals.  These meals provide a wide range of nutrients while still adhering to the cookbooks primary purpose.
