Tempting Kosher Dishes is not a recipe book written by a single creator, but rather a book put together by staff at the Manischewitz company from recipes submitted to them by their customers. The Manischewitz Company was founded in 1888 by Dov Behr Manischewitz  as a small bakery, providing matzo to the local Jewish community. Matzo is an unleavened cracker like bread eaten largely during Passover. The bakery quickly grew, eventually moving into two large bakery facilities, and becoming the largest industrial producer of Matzo in the world by the time Tempting Kosher Dishes was written.  Manischewitz eventually branched out to other products, such as matzo meal, and cake mixes, etc, that are featured in the recipe book as well. The company later expanded into kosher wine during the 1930s, and became one of the largest producers of kosher wine in the United States. The Manischewitz company is still in business to this day, still producing matzo products and kosher wine, as well as expanding to other products such as cookies, noodles, and sauces.
