Kenneth Lantz

This cookbook is published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs within the Government of Ontario. At the time of publication, the deputy minister was Kenneth Lantz (1921-2004), he may not have written the cookbook himself, but his position would have overseen its release. Lantz, of Kent County, was a notable member of the Ontario Agriculture Hall of Fame and served on every major committee of the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). Lantz also served as president of the CNE and Director of Extension while supervising fifty-four counties and district offices of the ministry. Lantz had also established the food land development branch within the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, which created land guidelines to preserve farmland. The development prompted Lantz to be named a “Fellow” of the Agricultural Institute of Canada, which is the highest award for a professional agriculturalist. Throughout his career, Lantz was committed to the advancement of Ontario agriculture.
