Jenn-Air was originally founded by Louis Jenn in Indiana 1947. Born June 1^st, 1915 and passed away at the age of 77 in 1993. In the early years of the company Louis focused his company on manufacturing industrial fans for commercial and industrial applications. As the company grew the manufacturing focus leaned towards residential appliances. Jenn-Air became well known in 1961 after creating the downdraft cooktop and popularized even more within North America after introducing convection cooking within the home. They released their convection oven in 1976 which was very popular and released their first major cookbook in 1980, Cooking with Jenn-Air. This cookbook popularized as it complemented the vast variety of residential cooking appliances Jenn-Air offered. During this period Jenn-Air continued to make cookbooks which offered popular American recipes using their cooking equipment. Now, Jenn-Air is known for their innovative technology in luxury kitchen appliances such as ovens, refrigerators, dish washers and more.
