Introduction

The Grandmother’s Conspiracy Exposed cookbook written by Lewis A. Coffin focuses on educating new parents how to properly feed their children. Coffin uses his knowledge from being a pediatrician to provide insight on different areas of child rearing, with opinions different from those being told to mothers by their own mothers. During the 1970s and 1980s, many parents were taking advice on how to raise their child from grandmothers in the family. Coffin explains throughout the cookbook the different pieces of information being told to parents, and backs up with scientific evidence how they are actually proven to be wrong. The book begins by explaining Coffin’s intentions behind writing this piece of literature, and goes into further detail about his own research findings from talking with other mothers, about how they were told to feed and raise a child. The information being provided pertains to many different stages of a child's life from infant to teenager. There are different sections of the book that focus on different subjects with feeding children such as feeding a baby at different stages, what is considered healthy and unhealthy foods, feeding picky eaters, etc. This cookbook also provides options and ideas for what to feed your child for each meal. It can be described as an educational book for parents with children between infancy and school-aged who need help with knowing what to be feeding their children, in order to obtain proper nutrition and health.
