This cookbook was written and published by Time Life, which is the book subsidiary of Time Inc. Time Life was founded in 1961 and took its name from Time Inc.’s prominent magazines Time and Life. Time Life created and published multiple book series that would be mailed to households monthly, often revolving around topics such as nature, science, or history. One of their most famous series is the Foods Of The World series that this cookbook originates from. Various authors contributed to the book series such as M.F.K. Fisher, James Beard, Julia Child and Craig Claiborne, but no author was specifically stated for this cookbook. While the author of the cookbook is not credited to a single person, the illustrator and photographer have each been credited as Matt Greene and Charles Phillips respectively.
