Company Chicken is a southern inspired recipe created in the hopes of satisfying any variety of company that comes over for dinner. This recipe contains an interesting mix of ingredients, including a large cream component as its base. This recipe features three types of canned cream soup, including canned cream of chicken, celery, and mushroom soup. This recipe has an interesting blend of ingredients that are not typically paired together. For example, the rest of the recipe calls for parmesan, sprite, and almonds. Not to mention, at the end of the instructions, the author notes that if the cook desires a change of taste, they can also add ingredients such as coconut, raisins, or chutney. This recipe is a prime example of the meat chapter in Classic Cooking with Coca-Cola as it not only contains a Coca-Cola product, but it also contains an interesting blend of ingredients that are not typically paired together.

A featured southern recipe found in the salad chapter of the cookbook is the Georgia Shrimp Salad. All of the salads featured in Classic Cooking with Coca-Cola are not your standard leafy salads and instead are primarily gelatin or, in this case, seafood based. This recipe provides an interesting mix of ingredients, with some being quite difficult to find. This recipe calls for two cans of frozen grapefruit sections which is nearly impossible to find since freezing canned grapefruit is not recommended. The rest of the recipe features the traditional ingredients of a shrimp salad: cream cheese, cocktail sauce, onion and shrimp. However, this recipe also includes a substantial amount of mayonnaise and Coca-Cola. The instructions for this recipe are quite simple, however they do not discuss the incorporation of the grapefruit sections which can be puzzling for the cook. This recipe demonstrates the theme of southern cooking, especially with the added ingredients of pecans in order to make it “Georgian style”.
