          Did you know, starting in the seventies there has been a global transformation and massive expansion of the fitness industry[16]. We can gather, from the texts in Its In To Be Thin, how important exercises and fitness were in the seventies, and how much more we have come to know about this subject now. We can see, from Lindauer’s 10 step exercise plan, her intent to make an exercise plan to help with maintaining a healthy lifestyle, however steps like number two, “Place hands on chin. Make fish-like movements by jutting your jaw forward three times” would not be a necessary exercise for those trying to stay fit.
