The Litton Systems in Toronto, Ontario, was damaged in a bombing just one year after the publishing of this cookbook. A violent guerrilla group called the Squamish Five were responsible for the attack, using a van filled with dynamite to damage the plant, injuring seven people in the process.

Litton Systems introduced their first microwaves in 1972, with one model costing $349 and another $399. This made it about as costly as a colour television.
