Marry Ellen Pinkham was born on June 4, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is the author of numerous household aid and cooking books such as Mary Ellen's Best of Helpful Kitchen Hints, Mary Ellen's Best of Helpful Kitchen Hints Book II, and How to Become a Healthier, Prettier You: The Latest on Nutrition, Diet, Exercise, and Beauty. Marry Ellen Pinkham is also well known for her successful television series TIPical Mary Ellen, Home and Garden Television. Marry Ellen Pinkham’s rise to fame began due to her charitable mentality leading her to create a household aid book in order to raise money for charity. She, using her own money, alongside the help of her mother, was able to accumulate over 1000 hints and tips using household products to aid one while completing kitchen and household tasks. Marry Ellen Pinkham’s most successful venture saw her sell over 1’000’000 copies of her book, Mary Ellen’s Best of Helpful Kitchen Hints.
